Here's the mindset shift: your public socials are the highlight reel. FAYDER is the documentary. Fans aren't subscribing for polish — they're subscribing for proximity.
What to post
The stuff Instagram never sees. Training life: the 6am sessions, the numbers on the board, what your coach said afterwards. Race day: how you felt on the start line, the honest debrief when it went wrong, the quiet moment when it went right. Behind the scenes: the physio table, the travel days, the kit bag, the food. If it feels too ordinary to post publicly, it's probably exactly right for your fans. Ordinary is what proximity looks like.
Formats
Photos, videos, written posts and audio are all supported — so use whichever fits the moment. A sweaty post-session video says more than a polished caption. A short written post is perfect for a race reflection. And don't overthink production: phone footage straight from your camera roll works, including iPhone photos and videos. Shoot it, upload it, done. Your fans want real, not rendered.
Cadence
Consistency beats volume. Two or three posts a week that you can actually sustain will build a stronger community than a ten-post burst followed by three weeks of silence. Fans build a habit around your rhythm — they start looking forward to hearing from you. Pick a cadence that survives your hardest training block, because that's the real test. If in doubt, aim lower and never miss.
Public vs gated
Not everything should sit behind a tier. Keep some posts public as a shop window — they're what convinces a curious visitor that your page is alive and worth paying for. Then gate the personal stuff: the honest debriefs, the inside track, the moments you'd only share with people who've backed you. A good rule of thumb: public posts show what you do; gated posts show who you are.
Getting started
- Post the ordinary — training life, race day, behind the scenes
- Use whatever format fits: photo, video, written or audio
- Straight-from-the-phone is fine; real beats polished
- Two to three posts a week, sustained, beats bursts
- Public posts as the shop window, personal posts behind the tier
Your training diary is already full of content. You just haven't posted it yet.
